The End
I have enjoyed Web2 part2. It was a really smooth journey to navigate and complete all exercises. I particularly enjoyed "Taste Spotting", lots of nice recipes there.

Week 6, part 2
EnCompass is a user friendly and excellent tool to find a book for all age ranges. There are a few different ways to search and browse for books. I quite enjoyed creating my own list. Apart from searching for books, people can also join book clubs, read and share reviews, read author interviews and more. I would definitely recommend this website to our customers.

Week 5 part 2
Flowers
View more presentations from pinklady021.
I was mainly checking slides about SL(second life) and the future of virtual worlds in education. There is a prediction that 80% of internet users will be in a virtual world by 2011. This simply means that libraires have to be where users are, otherwise people will not come to libraries.
Slideshare was easy to use. It is a useful site for people to upload, publish and share powerpoint presentations with colleagues and friends (photos on Facebook, conference slides etc.).

Week 3 part 3
It was easy to subscribe to RSS feeds. I have joined Travel journals RSS feed and Auckland city RSS. So far I did not have any customers asking me about RSS feeds, but I guess we can promote Library RSS to our customers.

Week 2 part 2

I found Picapp very strange. When I searched for an image on some topic I got images which I would never expect to come up on the first page on my screen.
For example – I searched topic “Italy” and then sport images came up first. I find that Google images search is more specific and it gives me better choice of images. Picapp is not my cup of tea. Sorry.

Week 1 part 2
It was very easy (straight forward) to open an account and upload an image to Box.net. I would recommend this website to our customers. In my opinion it would come quite handy to people who do not have USB with them but want to save some documents. It’s also handy for everyone who doesn’t want to overload their own computers. Good storage space indeed.

Week Six
Facebook is a great tool for keeping the public up to date with what is going on in the library and for communicating with our customers. It is fairly simple to use and has many features that are useful for individuals such as uploading your own photo albums. I would definitely promote Facebook and encourage our customers to use it.

Week Five
I visited Amazon MP3 Store and MP3.com. Both sites were easy to navigate and I am sure that it will be easy for customers to use these webistes on their own. On Amazon MP3 there are many different genres like classical music, jazz, pop etc. but I did not find any modern and popular music for free.

Week 4
I visited GoodReads today and throught it was a great website. I would definitely recommend this website to our customers especially for people looking to find out what other readers thought of a particular book. There is even an element of social networking with the ability to connect with people with similar tastes in books and to form online groups similar to book clubs for reading and discussion.

Week Three
Signing up for Twitter was quick and easy. The format and style was pretty interesting and I even managed to see some of the photos of the new Pakuranga Library that I had sent to Tosca by following Manukau_Libs.

Week Two
I have to say I did not know about Zamzar before. This converting program is very easy to use and I am sure that it will help some of our customers to convert their files to different formats. In this exercise I converted a word document to PDF in just a few seconds. Yuuuupi!
Week One
I am glad that we are doing the Web 2.0 exercise again. Technology plays a big role in our everyday lives and we have to keep up with it.
This time around I am hoping to gain some practical tips which will enable me to help customers with Learn.net queries.
